Books hanging upside down from the ceiling of the bookstore resemble stalactites in the cave.
Between ship-shaped bookstands, ground glasses reflect lights from the hanging lamps as if a river is flowing slowly, and lead readers to discover its treasure islands of knowledge. In addition, the bookstore is a cultural exchange space that integrates a bookshop, cultural creative products with local ethnic features, art performances, and cultural salons. It regularly holds book signing sessions for acclaimed writers, reading salons, and children’s reading activities to draw local residents.
What’s more, the Guiyang Zhongshuge Bookstore was selected by WIRED as one of the most 10 beautiful bookstores in the world and won the world’s most influential design award in the A’Design Award & Competition.
